Plan With Me: Week One Check-In

Updated: Oct 14, 2020

An October goal update

We're one week into preptober and our October goals still have that New goal smell of ever driving motivation. At least, for the most part.

A week ago I set my October goals and shared them with everyone. The goals are simple:

  • one new blog post for every day this month following the #preptober2020 challenge

  • mil-wordy - increase word count & improve what we're factoring in

These goals aren't huge in my opinion but they're aimed at improving my daily word count which is never wasteful in my line of work.

If you've been keeping up with me this past week then you know I've been delivering on my word both here on my blog and on Instagram.

While on one hand, if I would have remembered about Preptober then I would have planned ahead a little better, but I'm glad to have had the last-minute reminder because I’m not always down to stick with the pre-set plan.

If I had I wouldn't be (maybe) considering doing NaNoWriMo this year.

So far week one has delivered:

• seven new Instagram post + six new blog posts (kept my introduction post on Instagram).

• clarity on how much do or don't want to share, though I’m aiming to share a little bit more.

• I might ditch Twitter?

• NaNoWriMo can happen but on my terms. (again, maybe.)

• I need to buy new color pens to color code my planners

Overall, Preptober has been off to a calm and smooth start and even on a couple of days didn't really want to write because I just wanted to nap, I’m glad I made the last-minute change of blog plans.

I will admit here that keeping up with updating my Milwordy tracker has been the thing that keeps getting hopped over to the next day's to-do list...repeatedly. So, I’m writing every day but I haven't been good at recording it in my tracker.

Anywho,

Below is part two of my October Plan With Me video. If you like those kinds of things, you can see how I break down the upcoming posts for the week using The Author Platform Planner.

How is your first week of Preptober ending? Let me know about it in the comments.
